GreenSeeker goes ISOBUS with AGCO GTA Console

NTech Industries, Inc., manufacturer of the patented GreenSeeker® crop sensor technology, will add a new ISOBUS model of its GreenSeeker RT200 system to its product lineup in 2009. The announcement was made at the 9th International Conference on Precision Agriculture held July 20-23, 2008, in Denver, CO.

The new RT200 ISOBUS system will use network technology to allow direct communication with ISOBUS display monitors, such as AGCO's GTA Console. This will eliminate the need for a second monitor in the cab when using GreenSeeker sensors with ISOBUS console-equipped tractors, sprayers and spreaders.

NTech engineers cooperated with AGCO on the development of the new technology. The GreenSeeker RT200 is already compatible with the older AGCO Falcon II rate controller.

A prototype version of the new GreenSeeker ISOBUS system using an AGCO GTA Console was displayed at the precision ag conference. The current GreenSeeker RT200 six-sensor variable-rate application and mapping system is compatible with most sprayer and spreader controllers in the world.

"The new ISOBUS system will expand compatibility even further and allow for easier use and integration of the GreenSeeker sensor technology," said Ted Mayfield, Chief Operating Officer of NTech Industries. GreenSeeker delivers real-time crop vigor mapping and variable-rate application of inputs like nitrogen, growth regulators, defoliants, fungicides and desiccants.

"With the current price escalation of crop inputs, GreenSeeker allows farmers to do a better job of managing crop inputs for maximum returns, and at the same time minimizing the likelihood of over-application of materials that might have a negative impact on the environment," he added.

"Sensor technology like GreenSeeker is going to be more common with increased pressures from skyrocketing input costs," added Joe Tevis, Global Product Manager - Precision Ag Products, AGCO Advanced Technology Solutions. "AGCO is committed to maintaining its leadership position in precision agriculture. Coupling GreenSeeker with FalconVT, the industry's fastest responding rate controller, will allow AGCO customers to be the most efficient and productive farmers in the world."
